Different amounts of prim allowed?
And why when I click on my land does it say 234 objects but the neighboring land says up over 1300 objects allowed? And what is the difference between prim and objects, or are they the same thing?

Grace! Hi again. :)

Generally, no, how it works is this:

"Prim" is short for "primitive building block", which are used to build just about everything you see in Second Life. If you click the Build button in the toolbar, you'll see the different kinds of prims in the palette. An object is one or more prims--how can they be more? Well, prims can be linked together (TOOLS menu ---> LINKED) to form a cohesive creation. For example, a drink in your hand that's made of numerous prims is one object. Or a vehicle, or a chair.

A region, 65,536 m2 (square meters), has 15,000 prims. By dividing and doing the math, you'll find 512 m2 has 117 prims. There are some very rare locations such as Nova Albion (that's the regions of Miramare, Barcola, Sistiana, and Grignano) which have higher prim density. Private island owners can also increase the density (called "Object Bonus";) with the benefit of putting more prims on a small parcel, although the total on the whole region (square on the grid) will still usually be 15,000.

The neighboring land you describe is probably a much larger parcel. Remember the guideline: "More land, more prims." To see if this is so, go to VIEW menu ---> PROPERTY LINES to see colored lines appear where one parcel of land ends and the next begins. Since yours allows for 234 prims, sounds like you have a 1024 m2 parcel, since that's double 512 m2 with 117 prims. =^_^=
