Hi Lindens,
Well, what a couple of days it's been! Whew, exhilarating! Just goes to show what happens when you give a little time and lattitude to people with skillz and a bad sense of ethics. Too bad they turned out to be your business partners, tho.
Anyhoo, here's my question, and I am addressing it to you rather than to the residents' forum, as I'm hoping to get an official, accurate answer, and since you evidently condone the use of the Copybot (if only for legitimate purposes), and because I am unavailable to obtain a copy for myself to test with:
If I use a script to attach floating text to a prim and then remove the script, the text remains with the prim. If I use conventional methods to copy the prim, the text appears with the copy as well. Is this also true if I use the Copybot software?
I am considering doing this to some of my possessions, and would like to know if it's worth the time and effort. On items with a large number of prims this may help make it disadvantageous to a thief to try to unscript the text.
Again, thanks for taking my question, and keep up the great work!
Regards,
Stone
p.s., if I may: keywords from my RL world of Information Security and Compliance for your future reference: "vendor management," "non-disclosure agreement," "contractual obligation," "litigation clause," and my favorite, "CYA."
Cheers!
