Blue Linden in response to a question by Nicola Samiam: From: someone And due to the fact that some items are set to No Copy, you risk losing them as you would lose items in RL. I'm very sorry, but IRL I dont loose valuable items. Maybe some small change, my cigaret lighter, or my gloves, or reading glasses, but not my car, or my home, or clothing. Sometimes things are stolen. With a little luck my insurance will cover it. If they find the thief, he gets a fine or sent to jail. I don't think a LL representative can say this when "you" loose things. "We" dont loose items... We keep them in the safest (and only) place we have: our inventory. If you want to use the analogy of RL missing things, that you didnt make "missing" yourself, then IRL it's called theft. (I'm not accusing LL of theft.. I'm pointing out that this is a non-argument, and inconsiderate to customers)

I'm sorry to imply that you lose things, Riff. I, however, am not so lucky. I suppose the analogy I was making, without sufficient elaboration, would be to "acts of god". Fire, flood, natural disasters. People sometimes lose everything and it's tragic...something you couldn't, in good concience, wish upon anyone. Similarly, we here see the tragedy of lost content as something that can dramatically affect your Second Life. And we put a hell of a lot of effort into trying to prevent it, and trying to minimize it where possible. Sadly, it's not always possible and we are left to regret and empathize. We will continue to work towards a time when lost content is almost unheard of.
