Why can we not set all Permissions to NO?

Example: NoMod/NoCopy/NoTrans

We are able to set to full perms, but not the reverse of no perms. I can see several uses for such in some sales (example: Artowrk), where the creator does not what his/her work modified (in the example the artwork is how the creator meant it to be), does not want it copied (the buy only bought one, not an unlimited supply), and does not want it resold, either underpriced or overpriced for a profit.

Are there any plans to change this? Has anyone there even thought on this? Or is there a purely technical reason for such?

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

I'm going to ask Kelly, who's explained a lot about permissions in the past like this, for more info. :)

You may also want to read Phoenix Linden's reference on Permissions explained.

There are two sides to every street. Creators get to decide for the most part what the permissions on an object will be. However buyers get to always know that they will be able to do at least one of the following:
- Resell the item they bought
- Create multiple copies of the item.

The reason you can not set everything to 'no' is that it is part of the balance between creators rights and buyers rights.

In the case of a work of art, no-copy, yes-transfer makes the most sense. After all you can always sell a piece of art you buy, whether at a loss or for a profit.
