The dark side of removing age verification

This comment by a teen grid member appears on Philip's 3rd anniversary of SL blog entry. I've reproduced it in part below:

From: someone
On a more embarrassing note, more people have been coming around to me, and many other residents of our grid wanting to 'meet' them in real life. This is obviously **very** bad, and should not be tolerated one bit, but of course, I have seen some of the flirtatious, not-knowing girls around actually go with the idea, which is also **very disturbing** Also, as many teen residents keep an open note to their skype accounts in their profile, and even in a group called "TSL SKYPE", including me, can also experience shaking events. For example, one person that apparently found my skype name from SL claimed he was from brazil, and wanted to meet me in august in New York, I immediately said "I dont do that sh**" and I said I had to go, and I blocked him.

Clearly the removal of age verification has not just caused an increase in griefing, and no amount of ban lines can curb a pedophile with a throwaway verification-free SL account from trolling the teen grid looking for an impressionable youngster. Given the seriousness of what is mentioned, can we please have a comment from Philip, or Robin (or maybe Ginsu) about this very disturbing revelation?

Edited to add a link to a General forum thread discussing this matter. /108/a2/116471/1.html
