This account ( Flier Bleriot ) was set up with entirely false details. I have set up another account.. ( Silly Barry ) again set up with entirley false details. I can't use Silly Bary any more, WHY ? Silly was created before the password change, and to change his password I need the verification that is being sent to the false E-Mail I gave. A simple step that could be implemented into the registration procedure would be to send a verification to the given E-Mail address. A requirement for a regular change of pass words would ensure that the E-Mail of accounts remained valid. I think this simple step would make setting up anonamouse greifer accounts much harder. Certinaly it would limit the number of false accounts as the limit for an address would hold numbers down, and problem E-Mail accounts could be banned. Having a real E-Mail should also make it earier to trak down the source og greifer accounts.
I regard myself as a good citizen, setting up this account was for testing only.. can a Linden identify my " real " name....
Regards ????

Thanks for the feedback, we do have several methods to identify and link Second Life accounts already and hope to add more in the future. There are also several different sections of our Community Standards which relate to alternate accounts, griefing and grid-wide attacks. In particular, I've pulled out the section which relates to Global Attacks and pasted it below: Global Attacks Objects, scripts, or actions which broadly interfere with or disrupt the Second Life community, the Second Life servers or other systems related to Second Life will not be tolerated in any form. We will hold you responsible for any actions you take, or that are taken by objects or scripts that belong to you. Sandboxes are available for testing objects and scripts that have components that may be unmanageable or whose behavior you may not be able to predict. If you chose to use a script that substantially disrupts the operation of Second Life, disciplinary actions will result in a minimum two-week suspension, the possible loss of in-world inventory, and a review of your account for probable expulsion from Second Life.
As I'm sure you can see, we do take this very seriously and plan to continue to refine our policies and technical provisions to prevent such attacks in the future.
