I just want to point to this: /108/f5/116260/1.htmlI would like to hear Linden Lab's views on the future of SL, and how it will tie into the Internet as a whole. This is not a question as much as an invested interest in wanting to know where LL is going to head with SL, and how we can actually HELP. Perhaps brainstorm ideas for methods that might be able to work for security and open development. I persoanally think that a lot of the conflicts I have surrently seen are due to misunderstandings in what LL is trying to do. If we could discuss where we are going, it might help to reduce the stress of change.

Hey Foolish, I have personal ideas of my own, but they're rather verbose. They may come out in the future when my hands are less hurty. But for now, I'll forward the thread to some Lindens who'd be interested in reading! One key point: in the light of transparency, it's very important to communicate whenever possible. Often, changes (including feature development) are parts of a larger arc (think of a good TV series) but the reasons for that aren't spread as well as they could be. I've expressed this point numerous times--and would like to have more Lindens in their respective expertises provide further insights in a clear, accessible way. By now, you've prolly already read Robin's latest blog post covering verification, among more important things: http://secondlife.blogs.com/change/2006/06/update_open_reg.html
