Dear Lindens,

Imagine the following situation:
Let's say my land gets very frequently visited by griefers, showing abusive behaviour (e.g. Spam, caging, nude in a PG area, the like).
Right now I can only react to that like this:
a) Either I am present, and I can TP the offender home, and then fine an abuse report or
b) I am not available, but my friends are there. They can abuse report the person, but are still stuck with that person's abusive presence.

I now wrote a script that enables named friends of mine to send people home. The script does a llTeleportAgentHome on request of trusted friends of mine. That way they can take some more immediate measures while I am not around.

Now, someone pointed out to me that _technically_ only the land owner has the right to eject people from the land, and told me that it migh violate any TOS if I'd enable trusted friends of me to also boot people from my land, although they are NOT owners of the land (or officers in the same group).

Also, teleporting people home is the last resort one has, as banning does not work for any height > 50 meters.. (and I happen to have a tree hut, somewhere, with a large tree that happens to be 100 meters high).

Also, please don't tell me to add all my trusted friends to the officers list of a land group and make them admins like that. I DO trust my friends, but I don't want them to accidentially return my hut to my paws.

So... what to do? Is a gohome script that checks the command issuer against a list of trusted people and then sends a given AV home against the TOS, or is it a tool I can use to keep me and my land sane?

Thank you in advance,
Sheila Plunkett.

The Community Standards outline the guidelines for neighborly behavior. One of the standards, Assault, can be violated by overly zealous security scripts. Ideally your security script will politely warn intruders and ask them to leave, with enough time to actually do so before being returned home.

The new group tools should give you a little more freedom to assign security patrol to your friends without worrying about content loss. They should be released into Preview pretty soon for testing.
