Groups

With the recent mass banning of people in the Voted Five group, is this a signal by LL that a group is collectively responsible for any actions its members are responsible, or suspected for?
And if so.... what is the point of being in groups now, if a reputation, or actions of others will impact you in SL?

Our policy generally: I don't think it's quite so simple as merely belonging in the group, as the specific abusive actions undertaken by individuals who happen to all belong to the same group.
