With the possibility of offline meetings and other RL 'events' that originate from various dealings in SL, I am concerned after learning that the media that is streamed on one's land exposes residents' IP Addresses to the music station operator (DJ).

Is there some way to send a generic IP address from SL (such as the SL server IP Address) rather than allwow OUR IP Addresses to be seen?

Many residents are NOT aware of this. I wasn't!!! I definitley love to listen to music, but I do NOT want anyone in SL to have my IP Address just because I am listening to their music station.

If you cannot stop this, may I suggest that you add a disclaimer/warning on the settings tab and possibly an alert pop up which can be turned off when we press the play button to listen to media.

Hello Over Sleeper (fun name)! While I enjoy looking at user interface mockups, may I please suggest that next time, you use PNG for lossless compression instead of BMP? The image you posted is 800k!

I don't know a current way to do the "generic IP address" you suggest. It's important to note that SL points streaming media from the actual server to your end. It does not intercept the data in the interim. So, same thing as plugging the same URL into any media player such as Winamp, or in the case of a movie, QuickTime Player; it's not specific to Second Life.

I do understand your concern, and will pass on your suggestion. As always here, Resident interest helps, so if you know of related past threads, or even a vote proposal, that would be grand.
