External Bug Tracking System

Hello Lindens!
I was wondering about the odds of having an externally accessable (as in, not only for LR employees and the "Report Bug" feature) bug database, such as Bugzilla.

Currently, we have no real centralized bug information system (aside from the *great* Second Life unified blog), and that's a problem, as you currently have to look through the forums to find out if there's any information on the bug already.

One of the problems I've identified is Residents inadvertantly misuse this system (duplicate bugs, non-bug things). To solve this, I'm proposing a Resident Bug Moderator (Resbugmod) system, similar to the one in place on the forums, with Lindens having supreme power (like the forums).

So, my questions are:
1) Would you set up a bug database for Residents within the Second Life website?
2) If you are unwilling/unable to do so, would the developers look at an external bug tracker?

Thanks for your time!

G'day Jesse, have you seen our... Support: Known Issues page?

http://secondlife.com/support/known-issues.php

It's much prettier than the old way (posting lists to forums) and... it seems to match what you suggest.

It pulls data directly from our internal bug tracker (JIRA, complete with the SL-xxxxx numbers) and presents it in an easily-accessible form.

Glad you like the unified Linden blog too!
