This is an annoying bug, not just for it's effects, but for how difficult it is to report.

It's completely random, sometimes an object (single prim or linked set) will just vanish from the sim! It's happened to the walls of a bath-house I built on a friends build, also happened to a stool in my house on the ground below, simply wasn't there when I logged in. I re-logged thinking maybe it hadn't rezzed but nope, it was gone without a trace.

The stool was not returned, it was simply gone. It was no in lost and found, nor was it in trash, nor was it anywhere in my inventory, it had just been removed completely. Which was very odd!

Koss had trouble a while ago with it returning all items owned by a group instead of just removing a single item returned by right-clicking on it.

I'm thinking that something must be up, this specific 'bug' (things disappearing without a trace randomly) has happened three times now that I know of, so I dunno if it's a fault with the sim or not, but some looking would be really great :)

I dunno if I should submit a bug report as well? It doesn't seem to be a consistent bug, it's completely random.

Cheers!

Haravikk, while I don't doubt such things could possibly happen, it is extremely difficult to understand exactly what is going on without a solid reproduction. I've been through numerous instances of "items randomly disappearing" before, and in just about every one that didn't turn out to be what's called "user error", it came and went.

How I'd manage it is start doing some specific tests. Keep records... perhaps leave a grid of plywood cubes out, and see if they disappear some days later. If not, then put out a lot of copiable objects you can bear to part with, and check them regularly.

Also, check with all other landowners in Koss--that's another key, if multiple Resis are experiencing the same phenomena. You can compile your eyewitness accounts and add the info up.

If you can get a repro, by all means, please send a bug report so we can help further--otherwise it's very difficult to ascertain.

Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this... best of hope. :)
