Suggestion to improve website frontpage

Greetings, I have a suggestion to improve the effectiveness of the homepage http://secondlife.com.

On the left side under the big "Join Now" button are 3 entirely useless options: Buy & Sell Linden Dollars, Own virtual land, Refer friends (these options are, of course, repeated in the top right dropdown menu already anyway). A new player, coming here for the first time, is not going to find any of those options of any use whatsoever - they want to know what Second Life is, what they can do with it, and why they should download it.

Could I suggest that perhaps a better use of that box would be some options similar to the "What is Second Life" guide over on Stratics - here - to give people some kind of idea of what they can achieve by signing up?

That page is your showcase - people's first impressions of what can be done. I like the changing pictures, and just think that moving away from the "make money" aspect and more towards "have fun" may be beneficial.
