When did actions on the Beta grid start effecting the Main grid?

As per the Knowledgebase and everything that I have read up till today, it was my understanding that the Main grid and Beta grid were meant to be separate girds, with nothing being able to be transferred from the Beta grid to the Main grid.

In reply to this post "People pick Money while Grid is down" in which someone asks about money transactions that are currently happening (while the main grid is down), Robin Linden says the following:

If your money tree is in the Beta Test Grid, which is currently open, it's possible that it's being picked there.

When was the separation between the Main grid and the Beta grid removed?
I can find no mention of this quite significant change.

EDIT:
Thank you for that fast and informative reply. :)

That response is innacurate. You are correct, Beta/Preview actions to not effect the main grid.

For the original question:
We did open logins for a brief time from 00:39 to about 00:50. This covers one block of the money tree transactions. At 00:50, however, it appears that we only closed the doors and didn't actually kick everyone. A few people that were already logged in were able to stay logged in. This was an oversight in our process but explains the few transactions seen in the intervening time.
