Now since Im in the land business I'm all for cheap land to resell, however this guys taking advantage of the system. Now that firstland 512s can quickly be resold for whats over US$10 worth in L$s, what LL gonna do about this?
I dont even know how this guys doing it. The only thing I can think of is using prepaid credit cards, but who in their right mind would go buy 30 prepaid debit cards to profit a dollar or 2. Common sense aside, someones doing it.
Not only is this person violating the TOS, clearly its ruining the first time land buying for some poor newbie who didnt get a chance to get a plot - because this guys buying as many as he can. Myself and a few others have counted a total of 23 plots in a single day when Toowoomba was opened as firstland.
I know LL wants to get as many registered users as possible to show investors "hey look invest in us" but now with the current land market as it is, more and more people are going to be trying this. Even with my suggestions to the Linden (like watching what MAIN account the proceeds were sent to and putting a hold on it till the incidents can be investigated) it seems nothing was done because this persons still at it.
What good is 2 million users if the few making a mockery of the system cause the rest to not want to enjoy the game anymore. I'm just guessing that the 2 million mark before 2006 is the "magic number" to hit for 2006s round of venture capital
VC aside, I think showing a strong arm to the abusers will have a much greater effect.
