What is the preferred or official or best name for the chat that scrolls up from the toolbar area?

I've called it the scrolling chat, but that doesn't make sense because the chat in the chat history and IM windows scrolls too.

I've called it the public chat, which isn't accurate, the proximity chat, which isn't accurate, the white chat, that's no good because it's not all white and can be adjusted anyway.

So far as I can recall I've never head it called a really good name. Is there an inhouse term that is short and accurate that I have never heard?
