Not sure if this was mentioned yet (I think someone asked for something similar but just USD related), but I think it would be VERY convenient to be able to transfer $L from player to player through the website (Lindex?) instead of having to pay them within SecondLife by logging in and going through the in-game payment options. One of the reasons is that some times I (and I'm sure others) owe people some money that they wish to transfer right away, but can not because they can't get to SecondLife at the time (for instance while I'm at work, need to make a transfer of a few thousand $L to someone for them to make a purchase for me, and my only option is to temporarily change my password and hope they don't run away with my account).
The other big reason is that apparently I am not the only person out there who accepts payments for real life products and services in $L as well as US$. It's convenient, saves me the step of transfering their US$ into SecondLife (to pay tier, rent, or what have you), and improves my sales since people may not have a lot of extra cash laying around, but they often have a few extra $L in their account they don't mind parting with.
The second one is the reason I thought of it, and it actually ties into the train of thought regarding the HUGE furry community in game. Very soon there will be one of the largest furry conventions in the USA (AnthroCon, June 16th, but many more happen throughout the year as well). Last year I and certain other people accepted payments for artwork in $L, however, there were very few furs who knew about SL back then, and it was inconvenient to do the transfers by having them log into the game. This year a lot more furs are associated with SL, and if people could have their laptops hooked up to the wifi in the artwork dealer's room, people could easilly and quickly transfer their money from one account to another. If you implement a fee for the transfers, you could also create yet another sink (if in $L), or if a monetary fee (if in US$), small profit on this as well.
