I used the new Land Store today and I am mostly happy with its functionality except for one important area: payment.
While the layout of each screen is simple and straight-forward, I was surprised that the process did not either tell me about how the payment was going to be handled or give me an option to make my payment another way.
I realize that LL will use the method of payment that's in a user's profile; however, I think that the Land Store should make that abundantly clear or provide options. The Land Store feels like it is a separate from the SecondLife.com site since users need to login separately - this can lead to some confusion in terms of payment and other options.
In addition, since buying an island is a significant expense some may prefer to pay using a means that isn't in their profile at the time of the purchase.
When I contacted support (by email, a minute or so after completing the process) to change my method of payment, I was briefly told that my payment had already been processed and that next time I should change my preferences before making a purchase. While that was an accurate answer, it was neither tactful nor helpful - disappointing especially when making a significant purchase.
