Not sure if this question has been asked, but I believe SL supports uploads of wav files for use in SL world audio, but not mp3, wma or some other compressed format. If that is true, when will these compressed formats be supported?

In world sound effects are limited to 10 second .wav format for upload. They are actually compressed using ogg vorbis for storage, transmission, and playback.
If you want to play full songs, etc, it is recomended you take advantage of the streaming music option which can play music streams from online locations for anyone on land you own. More information can be found in Help while in Second Life under the section How do I get audio/video streams to work? _____________________
