In any case, generic web on a prim is the route we will be taking for any future media on a prim instead of special casing specific technologies like quick time.

This (and an early part of that reply) leads me to two questions:
  1. Does this mean eventually streaming media as it currently is will be abandoned in favour of the mozilla browser and its various plugins, which can stream not only Quicktime and MP3s, but DivX, Real Media (<gags>;) as well as a variety of other formats? Getting away from a single streaming type might be good.
  2. Will "web on a prim" be a new streaming type, only one URL per parcel? Or will each prim have its own URL (hopefully!) allowing HUD browsers or stream "jukeboxes" from web pages?

You should too. Visit, vote, voice opinions.
Support CSG! Tell LL how much it would mean to subtract one prim from another!

1. Yes.

2. This has not yet beein finalized. My vote is for more than 1 / parcel but technical considerations may trump my desire - it is just unknown at this point.
