When I get home from my RL job or classes, one of the first things I do (after I put the coffee on) is check my sales from SL, log in to answer IMs and whatnot. I would hate to add up all the hours that I spend in SL for fear of admitting i'm an addict. What i'm curious about is those of the Lindens that work at the SanFran office and are in-world for job functions, how many of you log in from home after your work day is over? How often do you log in for non-work stuffses? Like I said, silly and pointless but funny when you think about it. Sort of the shoemaker without shoes phenomenon?

Hehe Jeanette--and warm thanx for starting a certain thread --I remember when Robin Harper (Linden) first told me about a saying, " Busman's holiday". I had no idea what it meant at the time but have come to learn since. I guess it's true for Lindens too. While individual Linden experiences vary, I know some who kick back on the weekends on an alt account and just enjoy the world, go to Live Music concerts, play games, build and script, etc.. We don't keep exact stats of this because it's considered to be personal, not business, time... but I will admit I'm an addict too. It's also worth relating the perspectives that come out of it: Ben Linden has a wonderful blog entry about this very topic!
Which brings me back to one of the first conversations I had with CEO & Founder of Linden Lab, Philip Rosedale (Linden)... we got into a discussion about "addiction" and how it's viewed as a bad thing, but... that's just a word to label the behavior. I prefer "passionate" myself, which is part of LL's SCEP acronym: Smart, Creative, Energetic, and Passionate.
