I was lucky enough that my security question worked.

However, a LOT of my friends were not so fortunate.

Several of them KNOW the correct answer -- but despite numerous attempts, trying every possible case-sensitive combination, their efforts are STILL futile.

And what do we, as the people who not only RESIDE here in Second Life, but CREATE the world around us, get for assistance?

GENERIC F_CKING ANSWERS.

This security issue happened about 48 HOURS AGO -- there should have been AMPLE time to prepare a way to handle it, instead of making so many people wait until MONDAY -- when a lot of people won't be able to make that damn phone call. DIDN'T IT OCCUR AT ALL TO LL THAT SOME PEOPLE WON'T BE ABLE TO MAKE THAT CALL UNTIL NEXT WEEKEND, because of their work schedules?

LINDENS! Find a way to let people back in-world NOW. This is OUR world, we built it, we created it! We've spent countless hours and real-world money making this damn world. You had enough time to figure out how to get people into the office over the weekend to take care of this issue. So find a way to fix the damn problem and FIX IT! Make some phone calls of your own, get your asses out of bed, work around the clock until it's resolved.

A LOT of people are going to ditch SL because of the way this was so poorly handled. IF, and only IF, LL finds a way to resolve this matter sooner than f_cking MONDAY, they might be able to salvage this horrible fiasco.

WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR GENERIC ANSWERS ANYMORE. WE WANT RESULTS. GIVE THEM TO US.

Late last night our web team was actually not in bed, but was rewriting the code to offer options other than the security question for validating accounts to reset passwords. I hope your friends can use those options this weekend to reset their passwords.

We will have Lindens answering the phones on Monday to help those who call in. For those who can't call we'll offer an email option. More on that as we continue to work this weekend to make sure that everyone who wants to be in Second Life can be.
