The end of Rating and and my current Ratings going down??

Hello all,
I was told earlier today that Ratings will be removed from SL by Nicole Linden. I would like to know a few things regarding this as I have 3 accounts and on 1 of them I have ALOT of ratings that I have earned over a long period of time and have friends that have earned them for years. Yet we were not informed of this we knew you had removed negative rating but were'nt told why? Can I ask if we will atleat keep our existing ratings in our Profiles or if they are being completely removed. Also Have you bothered asking the SecondLife residents if they want them removed? Some people get more work because their building ratings are high, Dancers get jobs because people have rated them on appearence and behaviour etc and we have spent hundreds of thousands of L$ on rating people over the years. You may think it serves no purpose but it serves more than you think please could you answer these questions as there are ALOT of worried people here and people that are upset.

Your question reminds me when I joined SL in Sept. 2004--ratings did used to mean more, psychologically and otherwise.

In today's world, demonstrably, it's one's actual acts of creation and self-expression, presented functionally, which count: for example, a builder's portfolio, or dancer's list of quotes from satisfied clientele.
