That not only is it the public perception (backed by numerous posts that were removed for which there is scarcely the slightest reason for their removal), but to add injury to insult by now tying inworld disciplinary action to those people whose posts have been removed is harsh and archaic beyond belief.
Why don't you just tell us to shut up and be done with it? You just can't micromanage posts to the degree as has been done thus far on the blogs, let alone punish individuals for honest opinions just because some Linden didn't like the way they put something (and maybe not even on their own blog). Please rethink this entire exercise. We are your customers; not your enemy, or your inferiors. coco P.S. Maybe you're not familiar with all the posts that have disappeared into the night. If you were, you couldn't say with such certainty that "abuse is abuse." _____________________

Blog censorship follow-up

You know... it would be so helpful if we could continue existing discussions here.
Anyway, in response to your post /invalid_link.html My experience - and that of many others - is that my statement is accurate. Posts are disappearing from the blog, and there is no attempt made to contact the post originator to say that your post has been removed, or why it was removed. As you well know, this was a problem with the forums, as I discussed it personally with you and several other Lindens, and evidently Linden Labs intends to repeat that mistake. "suggestions for improvement so we can serve you better *are* visibly encouraged" You completely ignored the overwhelming suggestion to retain the official forums in their completeness. Was that not a suggestion for how you can serve us better? I have no problem with Linden Lab removing posts that contain derogatory, personal or argumentative comments - however there are many cases of posts being removed when they are clearly constructive and perectly calm, simply not agreeing with Linden philosophy of 'everything is rosy'. With your statement, you have essentially meant posting comments on the blog for the majority of users of your game is not a risk worth taking. If scalability of forum handling on 500,000 users is "impractical", how can it possibly be ok on a blog? For that matter, what about Second Life as a whole? Lewis _____________________

Merged these.
Problems of perception are really important to communicate about and clarify, *no* doubt about that. I totally agree with this! Hopefully we can get the blog guidelines up soon--it's a priority to us. _____________________
