Do Lindens mess with my prims without my permission?

On the edge of my land, I have a small gap between it and Linden road. I linked a couple of prims across the 'no mans land' to connect my road to the Linden road. The root prim was on my land, and the Linden land is set to 5 minute auto-return. This was put in place around a week ago.

About 20 minutes ago, I got messages saying items had been auto-returned. The linkset (of around 12 prims) had unlinked, and the returned objects were those overhanging the gap between my land and Linden road. As soon as I saw this happen, I pulled up the mini-map and there were no green dots anywhere in that area, and there have been no changes to the land ownership.

Which leaves me with two possible reasons:

1) A bug made the linkset break apart, which I can report appropriately.

2) A Linden modified something on my land, without my permission.

As the advertising clearly states that everything I create is my own, I would be very upset for a Linden to have done this, without reason, without contacting me first. My road link enhances Linden Land as well as mine, so why this should somehow be considered more offensive than something like the Bush signs is beyond me.

I have paid a premium price for my land, which is surrounded by Linden road on 3 sides, and I wish to connect to it and utilise it. A number of requests in "Land Management" have been ignored.

Can you please explain what happened?

This is probably a bug. It is not possible for Lindens to modify resident's objects. It is only possible to delete or return them. If the linkset came apart and only some were returned it was probably a bug.
