http://secondlife.com/vote/index.php?get_id=1503This request was very specific - please put CC verification back on signups, the response and Robins blog simply side step the request, a lot of nice talk, but nothing that's actually going to have the slightest effect on any of the concerns that caused this vote to be started in the first place, no direct answer to the actual vote. So, my question. Is the voting system now mute, and if so, when will it be removed?

Greetings ninjafoo! No, the voting system isn't mute at all. Features continue to get acknowledged and implemented. Ask Angel Fluffy for Resident record-keeping--he is a marvel. In the proposal, the "chaos" clearly refers to include griefing. And what better way to stop griefing than to not let griefers have an effect on your experience? Out of sight, out of mind, right? "True mute" is a holy grail that I've heard wished for since the time I started SL. The sooner it happens, the damn better! I realize the responses may seem sideways, but it's perfectly consistent with Linden Lab's angular, lateral, orthogonal approaches--which made Second Life possible in the first place. Do know there are lots of Lindens on the front lines who have to put up with griefers every day, and the underage concerns are another angle. Every day at work, we're working on transitioning to more viable, realistic, scalable solutions. Just like some say "Roll back to Second Life 1.1!" it's a nice *thought*, but not feasible.
