I along with every other resident of Second Life I know have lost patience with Linden Labs' inability to roll out a solid upgrade. Every single time, with the exception of the original 1.12, the residents of SL who make it what it is have to endure problem after problem. Sometimes in the form of downtime, sometimes the loss of inventory, and sometimes just truly awful performance. This is contrary to the very concept of an "upgrade".
These rollouts MUST get better. The process MUST improve. The quality of service of this game is becoming increasingly poor, and it is killing creativity and driving away established residents. Meanwhile the world continues to fill up with newbies who act like jack-asses and alt accounts (thank you very much for dropping the credit card requirement...what a Pandora's Box THAT has been).
Since I became an SL resident in April, I have been through more upgrades than I care to remember. Without fail, every single one has taken longer than the stated time window, and has introduced more problems than it fixed.
Please...for the good of SL and the sanity of your residents, get it together! I love this world and the creativity that comes from it, but I cannot continue to endure the haphazard handling of product updates. There are other places to create, other places to interact. If this doesn't improve, there will be a mass exodous from SL.
