I would like, and expect as an investor and businesswoman who operates on this business platform, an official response on the reasons for LL support of the group Libsecondlife and it's goals and members in light of the chatlog of their own meeting prior to the release of Copybot in their own IRC channel as posted here:

http://www.sluniverse.com/forums/Topic12867-1-1.aspx

As an investor in this company and someone who operates vital real world business on this platform, I expect to know exactly and in detail WHY LL supports and works with this group of hackers and griefers who have the obvious and direct intent as stated in their own words to disrupt Second Life business and steal the IP and materials of businesses operating on your platform? Why does LL and Phillip Rosedale support the admitted intention of this organization to disrupt businesses operating on this platform and cause us monetary losses, and how can they justify legally or otherwise the lack of action against such people?

It would not be appropriate for us to discuss a post on a 3rd party site, about a supposed chat log from a different 3rd party source. It is heresy of heresy.

I am not saying the log isn't true, or that it is. I am saying it is impossible for us to know. It is impossible for us to know if the people chatting are connected to the names they are using in the chat, or the names those correlate to in other services.

Additionally IRC, and most chat text, is poor at conveying actual intent or emotion. Are those conversing joking? Do they actually intend what they say? Are they really people affiliated with libsl? Assuming so many things to make a statement about it just isn't fair to any involved.

I know this sounds like a cop out, I suppose it is. I could come out here guns blazing, lambasting the people who would even joke at saying such things, which is what I think you want. And then the next posts would be how "hey! I wasn't actually in that conversation, someone used my name!" or "I was only joking! I have my 1st ammendment rights to say what I want! I didn't actually do any of it!" and other such issues.

In other words it would create more mess than we already have. I am going to choose to avoid that at this time. However, you can be assured that this chat has been read by Linden Lab.
