Can someone please give me the link to where I can read the exact definition of what PG and Mature allow and dissallow? I am getting all kinds of opinions from all kinds of people, many of them contradictory. Why isn't this easeir to find? I would have thought it would have been defined on the Communtiy Standards page. It is not here... Community Standards http://secondlife.com/corporate/cs.php...nor is it here... Terms of Service https://secondlife.com/corporate/tos.phpThanks

Hi Loydin, Here's how it works: We use "PG" ("Parental Guidance" and "Mature" as general guidelines for regional ratings in Second Life. They're inspired by, but not exactly the same as television/movie ratings. What this means is that content for adults, such as swearing (a la George Carlin), explicit sexuality and blood/gore, belongs in Mature sims. A safe rule of thumb is whether you'd be comfortable doing it in front of a elementary school class. Oh, and because someone just asked, topless sunbathing should be done in Mature sims. We have these guidelines to be understandable, without a confusing jumble of sub-laws such as "this word is allowed but OH NO YOU CAN'T SAY THAT!". So there's a lot of looking at context and intent to get a better idea of the bigger picture at play here. And which is why there isn't a big paragraph (or paragraphs) on them. In light of that, it's understandable there's opposing opinions and room for discussion amongst Residents -- some things are "fuzzier" than others. We have an "Indecency" category in the Help menu > Report Abuse form to investigate if you come across something Mature in a PG sim. You're super-welcome!

Loydin asked me two *great* extra questions which I've heard come up a lot. So to be clear to everyone: From: Loydin Tripp 1. Someone told me to adults cannot even do something in the privacy of a secured building. True or not true? True! In a PG sim, you should *not* be having sex in a skybox, hidden behind walls, etc. It's Mature activity, keep it in a Mature sim. From: someone 2. What about gambling? Can or cannot be done in PG sim?
Historically we've allowed gambling in PG sims, yes. I've played bingo and games of chance in them too, as mentioned earlier. This only applies to Main Grid -- gambling is *not* allowed anywhere on Teen Second Life. This is for legal reasons.
