Ah, there's history to this Lis! While I can't say much on this because of trade secrets,  we have already--and are continuing to--develop countermeasures against various types of grid attacks, including but not limited to the "gray goo" of self-replicating objects. I'd also recommend scouring the forum archives for previous discussions about the "whys" and "why nots", or even looking at some of the issues that continue to be discussed today. Part of the debacle is that, for many useful functions, they can also be used destructively ( llPushObject comes to mind)... so how to deal with it? One of the best archived SL Answers on this topic is the following: The simple is, no, we aren't toothless, and yes, when it hurts our Resis, it hurts us too--so it's in all our best interests to keep Second Life happy and healthy.
