Cut Tool glitch!

Hello,
i searched the forum with the search tool to find more info about the Cut tool ingame, seems like i cannot get it to remember the three digits i put in perfectly, which is kinda bothering me since i try my best to line up prims perfetly as much as i can but when i equip a linked object with precise cut prim in it and move this linked object to adjust it, the cut value seems to change slightly, ending up messing the build.

I only used the arrows next to the digits to make this cut, and i didnt put numbers in manualy, so i would guess the numbers you get while pressing the up and down arrows would be there to stay and/or accurate :)

i filled a bug report about it, wondering if it was an unknown bug or if noone ever bothered fixing it, but anyhow, i think it is really important that it is fixed :) thanks

Heya RemZy, there is one currently glitch with cutting prims I know of. (There were some past ones which were fixed.) Here's my repro:
I rez a cube.
I edit it and press up the up arrow once on the Path Cut Begin.
Observed: it should say 0.05, but it says 0.04. Expected: Further incrementing has continued "off" numbers which aren't in multiples of 5.

Sounds similar to what you're having.

Also, does this happen to you in SL Preview 1.9.1? You can IM, PM, or email me (torley@lindenlab.com) to let me know.

Thanx for already sending a bug report!

Posting an update that Milo Linden confirmed this happens in Preview 1.9.1 too, and Steve added that it's a known floating point bug (rounding number errors). I also observed that the Path End Cut shows only two decimal places unless you scroll within the box--odd inconsistency there. Not a critical error, but I find it very annoying.
