When will the texture problem be fixed?

With many updates, some new texture quirk gets introduced. But with this update, there is such a huge bug with texturing that building is now impossible. Possibly it happened when someone tried to fix a prior texturing bug.

When you texture one face of the prim - putting in the numbers, to make it line up with the adjacent texture, for example - it very frequently gives half or more of the textures in that linked set the same numbers you intended for that prim face.

See my thread here for details: /142/5c/155915/1.html

I've spent the past three nights trying to work around this problem, and I have done nothing but waste hours of my time. With every eighth change you make or so, the whole house distorts to where half the prims in it take on the change you were trying to make on that one prim.

My questions are:

. Do you realize that this is the case? I didn't find it in known issues.
. Do you intend to fix this?
. And if so, when do you think this might be accomplished?

Believe me when I tell you that this problem means that - There. Is. Absolutely. No. Point. In Building. Any longer.

None. Zero. You'd have to be an idiot. It is nothing but a game of chance. It appalls me that this worked as expected until the last "update," and now it's broken, and I haven't heard any Linden say a word about it. If one has, I've missed it.

It takes an awful lot to make me quit building, but you simply can't build in any serious way now, or try to build anything complex and detailed. I should have quit three nights ago.

I'd like to know if this is it forever, or if you are going to fix it, and if so, when.

EDIT: Thanks, Blue, I have sent you the numbers for the bug reports I have already submitted.

In case you don't get that e-mail, I will put it here as well:

Thanks, Blue.

Here are the numbers of the bug reports I have already sent in on this texture problem. The first one is the most recent, and goes back from there:

Your bug report regarding Bug: E:1 P:1 O:W V1.13.1.5 (Rosieri)[Building] "More Specific on the Texture Bug" has been received, and assigned an ID of [rt.lindenlab.com #521527].

Your bug report regarding Bug: E:1 P:1 O:W V1.13.1.5 (Rosieri)[Building] "Building - Textures" has been received, and assigned an ID of [rt.lindenlab.com #521014].

Your bug report regarding Bug: E:1 P:1 O:W V1.13.1.5 (Rosieri)[Building] "Textures Again" has been received, and assigned an ID of [rt.lindenlab.com #520432].

Your bug report regarding Bug: E:1 P:1 O:W V1.13.1.5 (Rosieri)[Building] "Textures Doing Things on Their Own" has been received, and assigned an ID of [rt.lindenlab.com #520427].

Graphics card is: NVidia GeForce3 Ti 200.

Not sure how the graphics card could be involved, though, because this problem started after the last update.

Thanks,

coco

That's heavy duty...I can certainly see how it would be a showstopper. Please file a bug report with a step by step reproduction and send me the RT# you get in the mail. I'll go over it with the QA guys and see if we can get it isolated. That will be the shortest distance to a fix.

Also, Brent suggests including your graphics card make and model in the report.
