Further to my previous posts on SL weekly updates - the grid is open for an hour, then taken down again - Why don't you just bite the bullet, be realistic, and say the SL is only open 6 days a week? As has been mentioned elsewhere in this forum, effectively it is already for us Europeans. If you make it an official policy, rather than just announcing down time between certain hours, then at least people will know for definite not to schedule any events on a Wednesday.
And if the update schedule was monthly, rather than weekly then (a) 24 hours downtime wouldn't be a bad as weekly and (b) There's be more time to test the updates on the live servers before cheerily announcing that the grid is open!

Personally, this up-down-up saga on a Wednesday has become so regular that I don't think I'll even bother trying to log-in at all on Wednesdays any more.

Edit: And speaking of announcements - the grid is down, but the only announcement is the 1.12 Release Notes?????

Edit: Oh yes - Just saw the blog (Thanks Lizbeth!). Does having a blog instead of a forum mean that future updates will go more smoothly? ;Q

Having a blog streamlines a lot of things, yes. Thank you for your attention to this, Nicola and Lizbeth.

I've also posted a big red sticky in Announcements & News forum making it clear to go to the blog:

/3/12/132143/1.html

And speaking of blog, we're going to improve our release schedule for LESS disruptions and MORE uptime:

Any other suggestions to improve communication are gratefully appreciated!
