To echo Leah's post below about Weekly updates, and my own recent comments, once again (and how many weeks in a row has this been?) we have downtime for updates, then later in the same day more downtime to fix issues brought about by the updates! I think this time the grid was up for about an hour, now its down again. As Leah says, it takes a few days for everything to settle down, there are a couple of days of relative stability, then Wednesday's are more or less out, then rinse and repeat! Given that many of the reported bugs don't even get fixed from one week to the next, couldn't we try monthly updates for a while? or at least every other week? Weekly is getting really tiresome.

Ah, Nicola, the counterpoint of course is that with the bugs that DO get fixed weekly, holding them off would cause annoyance and great upset from others. I get so many letters about it, I know firsthand. Each person has different priorities but we keep the broad view of the community in mind. This also came up at today's Community Roundtable Meeting; I think a transcript containing more info will soon be posted about our future release schedule here: Announcements & NewsAlso be sure to see: Anatomy of a Second Life Updateon the unified Linden Blog.
