I recently spent a considerable amount of time editing my avatar's appearance to a point where I was very happy with it. Yesterday I decided to check out a freebie avatar I had picked up and dragged the folder onto my exiting avatar. It changed his appearance completely, of course. I then wanted to return to my original avatar so I tried to find the folder containing all the original settings. Could I find it, could I heck!

A helpful resident, on hearing my problem, suggested I re-edit my avatar's appearance this time doing a Save As on each part, saving it as 'Connor's Eyes', Connor's Hair', etc.

Once again I spent an age getting my avatar back to a state I could live with, diligently saving each part as I finished it. Once finished I did a final Save All and then created a folder in Inventory/Body Parts to hold all my customised parts.

Could I find any of them, could I heck! All the laboriously saved body parts had seemingly vanished. I did searches, I checked all the folders in Inventory and Library, none of them had any file beginning with 'Connor's'.

Now I have an avatar I'm afraid to experiment with for fear of going back to square one again. I have folders full of avatar parts none of which seem to belong to my edited avatar. I am very confused and frustrated at the way Linden seem to organise the Inventory/Library folders.

If anyone has any tips this newbie can use to make sense of his Second Life I would be very grateful. For now the look of my avatar is 'frozen' for a long time to come.
