I bought some land in good faith last night and this morning received an IM from someone who said the land had been reduced in price especially for him and would I sell if I wasn't too attached. He said he'd just missed out because of the time zones. I said I was sorry but I loved the land and pointed out that the previous owner should have set it for sale to him alone if that was the case. I added that I would think about selling to him, but the price would be substantially increased.
I noticed he had bought the adjoining plot which had been for sale at a similar price.
He then started bombarding me with IMs. Telling me I would have bad karma.That I should do the right thing. I told him that I had thought about buying the land for at least half an hour before doing so, so it was hardly instant and that I had done absolutely nothing wrong. I suggested that he take the matter up with the seller if he felt he had had an agreement with him. I also told him that it was the most beautiful land I had ever seen (waterfront view), that other parcels with a similar view were more than 512m and I couldn't afford more because I couldn't afford to pay tier.
Unfortunately I logged off without saving the first IMs, but the rest are below with the name of my persecutor removed to protect the guilty. I have not edited this in any way - even left in my typos. The IMs end where they do because I muted him.
Although I had muted Bully, he was now on his land - staring at me. Then he put up hideous screens. They were plywood at first but now they are covered in large bright patterns.
Edit: The screens have gone. His friend told him to take them down. I think they're now playing good cop; bad cop, but I have no quarrel with her - she was polite and nice in her IMs. Nevertheless, I just want tot enjoy my land in peace. I'd deed it to the SL Land Preserve, but then I wouldn't be able to buy any more without paying tier.
I haven't contacted the seller (it's really nothing to do with him anyway), but I know his name - he buys and sells quite a lot of land and he is far too practised in selling not to have set the parcel for sale to a single individual if he had come to such an arrangement. That suggests to me that the whole thing is a scam by Bully.
