Right now on my sim, 5034 active scripts are running. I've seen up to 6500 active scripts on the sim. Assuming my server is a Class 4, what is considered "a lot" or an excessive number of scripts to be actively running on a sim ? I"m just curious. I became curious because I'm still gray lol

You being gray has probably very little to do with the number of scripts running on a sim.
As for your question, it really depends on what the scripts are doing. A script that waits for a touch so it can give inventory takes a lot less load than one that is churning through processing and sorting lots of lists or one that is actively tracking things in a sim. At the same time a script that changes textures on an object every few seconds will not generate that much script load but could increase viewer lag by increasing the number of textures that need to be downloaded and the amount of updates that have to be sent to each viewer.
