I know viewer downloads are a bit slower than usual on update day, but this is the worst I've ever seen it. Is it possible you're having network issues beyond what was referenced in the blog? ("We’ve identified the cause of the severe packet loss: it has to do with avatar texture data inadvertently being sent via the wrong network.";)

I have a 6000/768 Cable connection. I just ran a speed test, and confirmed my net connection is running normal.



I've tried to auto-download the viewer several times over the last couple hours, and after 20-30 minutes, I get the 'download failed' message.

So, I went to http://secondlife.com/downloads, and downloaded it manually. I'm getting download speeds reminicent of my 9600 baud modem.



If you're working on it, great - I understand. But boy does this put all the cries for a changes-only viewer download in perspective.
