i was hoping that it would be possible that you guys could make it a reality to import drawings from 3d modeling programs such as prodesktop. this would not only improve the look of vehicles on the game but it would most likely lead to a massive surge in people wishing to drive and a large amount of business rising from this.
or if that wont work..create a modeling program that people could use without sl running and import objects into the game
i personally build using prodesktop and if i could import from that *shudders*..i would die happy

Heyhey kooze! It's definitely popular and gets asked about a lot. You may want to read such historical discussion threads like these, which shed more light on the context of what's been talked about thus far: This connects to the hard work that Resident Jeffrey Gomez put into a 3D Model Importer, which makes the best of what's currently available. There's also at least one feature voting proposal, 1094, which is in support of what you describe. You may wish to show your own support as well as discuss it further on the SL Forums, perhaps in Building or Feature Suggestions. There's also a passed proposal, 20, for a general content importer/exporter, which we acknowledge is important. Technology is on our side and while importing 3D models likely won't arrive in the near future, keep yourself busy inworld--and maybe someday, an irony of dying happy after a fulfilling Second Life, figuratively speaking, will occur.
