I'm going to say - once again - that the only way to effectively suppress DoS attacks and violations of the ToS is to ensure accountability; force EVERY account holder to have his/her avatar(s) tied to a physical, real world person. That way, if they violate the ToS and/or go on DoS attacks, SL will have a way of doing away with them. The only way to achieve this is to remove unverified accounts. NOW. Should trial accounts exist? Yes, by all means! Give them a 30-day trial account with L$500 to start with and let them take it from there - but, at the end of this trial period, DEMAND that they either become paid accounts (subscribers whose cash will contribute to the maintenance and upgrade of the system) or leave. This will also show how many people are TRULY dedicated to SL. As for existing unverifieds, let them continue to exist, on the condition that they behave; also, don't let them create alts - or, let them create alts, but make them pay for them and become verified; that way, both accounts will become verified.

On the whole copybot issue, this is the third display of recklessness and even malice on behalf of libSL; if their intention was not malicious, why would they start distributing their creations that violate the SL system? Not only are they violating SL restrictions and rules, they're making a pretty penny out of it. How can this be stopped? Well, with regards to the CopyBot, you need to take VERY drastic measures:

1. Disband libSL as it currently is.
2. Confiscate whatever know-how and documentation they have.
3. Hire your OWN, TRUSTED developers and give them the aforementioned know-how and documentation.
4. BAN current libSL members from SL permanently.
5. Take down - with aggressive legal action - ALL websites hosting the CopyBot.
6. In conjunction with the removal of the option for new unverified accounts, delete PERMANENTLY every single account that has been using the CopyBot.
7. Tweak SL's code so that it no longer allows usage of the CopyBot.

This set of measures is the only way in which LL can regain the trust of content creators and, of course, safeguard its product from potential pitfalls.

You see, unverified accounts pose a very grave danger, aside the fact that, when you ban a griefer and/or CopyBot-using criminal, (s)he'll be back within minutes:

Unverified accounts are a widespread pedophile scandal waiting to happen. Who knows how many SL escorts on unverified accounts are indeed adult or underage? There was already a thread in Resident Answers about a 13 year old girl claiming to work as an exotic dancer on SL, for crying out loud! If the Press hears of incidents like that, SL is, well, TOAST.
