Hello,

I would like to know what the consequences are for an individual hacking or otherwise manipulating an in-world object that accepts or distributes Linden Dollards (L$). When an individual maniplulates or hacks a JEVN server or vendor using a known exploit and obtains merhandise for free or for L$ in some cases, who should this be reported to? Once reported, what actions are taken? What is the minimum and maximum punishment for such an act?

Are there certain individuals who are exempt from receiving punishment for such acts? If so, could you please provide the Second Life Community with a published list of these individuals and an explanation as to why they would be exempt so that we are all aware of their "exempt status" and why.

If this has already been addressed, please point me to the post that would clarify it and accept my apologies for repeating. If not, please advise.

Warmest regards,

Very good question, MadamG. Very glad you asked!

As always, it depends on the specific context--sometimes, claimed "L$ hacks" are infact not. But in genuine cases of script exploitation, then yes, a Resident can receive a suspension; more severe ones warrant suspensions of several days depending on outrageous circumstances... or if it's tremendously bad--like repeated fraud--then a permanent ban.

Noone is exempt.
