Hi, Linden folks. Looking at the Known Issues page and some in-world experiences I've been wondering what is and isn't considered a reportable bug. I have been told that on several occasions bugs have not been reported because residents believed them to be technical limitations rather than bugs. I would therefore like to know if the following well-known problems are considered bugs and should be reported:
* Prim drift (of static and moving objects) * Bleed/antialiasing faults at the edges of clothing templates * Meaningless error message when animations are in wrong format
Additionally, a bug that I reported a while back (that inaccessible locations, such as Help and Orientation Islands, appear in Popular Places when Pictures only and Mature are both unchecked) appears to have been disregarded, not even making it to Known Issues. Of course I do not expect a guaranteed response to a bug report but I would like to know if this is simply due to turnaround time or if this was not considered a valid report.

Hiya Yumi, the three examples you list all sound buggy to me. With "prim drift" particularly, it's difficult to find a repro. I know I've heard of it in varying forms, some involving floating point imprecision, but the thing is: it's undesirable, unintended, and thus generally qualifies as buggy behavior per the usual definition. Can you please send me the bug reports containing your reproductions to me, torley@lindenlab.com ? I'll coordinate with QA and make sure we aren't missing anything that should've been stomped out a long time ago. I specialize in those, since they're often easy to fix, but we just haven't been aware of them earlier. This: * Meaningless error message when animations are in wrong format may be one of those, and you can send me the .BVH or other faulty file too. Then we'll go from there and I'll reply to confirm what we know.
