WIth there being so much upset about the different classifications of residents in Second Life, I would like to suggest that the unverified user accounts be renamed in thier profiles as "Tourist". Many people seem so insulted by the unverified information, and this would be much more PC and kinder Really this is what users in this classification actually are. It could also be used as a marketing/recruiting tool Thanx Luthien Unsung

Hey Luthien, as is often the case, we often bring up things like this internally. "Tourist" was mentioned... I'm aware of the upsides like its adventurous ring. Downsides are: * May remind some too much of unfavorable experiences in other online worlds. * Leads to a greater perception of transience, and thus, reinforces the fear of "a caste system"; "You're just visiting, you don't really live here!" * Ties into some unpleasant SL history using that term (feel free to search for it) * Technically inaccurate, because a tourist usually stays in a strange land for days, weeks, maybe months. But since a Basic account lasts indefinitely, you can really live here. And you can still have a home you rent from someone else who does have their payment info on file. So, we'll let someone call themselves a tourist. But, we won't be doing that.
