In this quote from Robin Linden (sorry to copy it here, but I have a question about that) /139/9a/146247/1.html "In addition, we have repeatedly encouraged content and experience creators in Second Life to take advantage of their ability to charge people for access to their content. The culture of SL has worked against cover charges, but perhaps it's time to reassess that decision and welcome new Residents as customers." Why would anyone pay to have access to my content (pay to access my land) when anyone can move their camera from the next sim and see and even interact with my content? If the "buy pass" to access a parcel would prevent the movement of camera into the restricted parcel and also prevent interaction with displays and vendors, then yes, it would be possible to charge for access to our content. When is that going to be implemented? Please answer.

Pratyeka, I definitely do know there's been an open project with no ETA, but its very purpose is to do what you suggested: prevent Residents with no access to a parcel from interacting with objects. Over time, I've heard related questions like: "I don't like this guy and want to stop him from buying stuff in my store, any way to make that happen?" I'll include your feedback in the project's file, showing that you're interested. I don't know of any plans to block unwanted camscanning into parcels; Andrew posted some additional camera insights here: /139/8a/132390/1.html#post1253600So the only really effective way to block someone currently is to have a private island. We understand the desire to have it at a more granular level, certainly.
