Speculation is runnin wild. Can we please get this cleared up?

Did free accounts require age verification before? If so, has age verification been removed from free accounts? If age verification was required for free accounts, but is no longer required, is Linden Lab worried that this will lead to underage users on the main grid?

Thanks!

Hey paulie--nothing in the way of "age verification" has been removed. We still have the form on the join page labeled "Enter Your Birthdate" which should be completed honestly and fully. Not doing so will most probably lead to termination of one's account.

If need be if a Resident's age comes into dispute, the procedure is simply to fax us a copy of legit, government-issued ID or other legal proof of age such as a birth certificate and we keep that on file as verification.
