Please advise. this question may be of interest to all residents. Over the past 2 days my avatar was assaulted in a sexual manner without my consent in a PG sandbox. i will not name any names but I will state the following in a summarized fashion.
The same individual perpetrated the incident both days. I proceeded to submit an AR during each incident and also called Live Help during the incident. i also kept a chat log and took screenshots. In both incidents, the representative (both Lindens) arrived a few moments after the attack. I explained the situation and provided a copy of the chat that took place prior to them arriving. The representative proceeded to approach the person who committed the act and spoke with them. I stayed out of range as to not eavesdrop. Both representatives, after speaking with the person on each day, determined that "only a verbal warning" was warrented. At this time, i still see not even this action listed on the police blotter. I also e-mailed the abuse report e-mail address regarding this incident with no responce as of yet.
At the time of me writing this, i must state now that I can not go to the public, PG rated sandbox that I always travel to due to the fact that i know this individual is still allowed to carry on as if nothing happened. I know these are not the same as a real rape nor remotely close but they are the same premice. I now can not visit a public place because the perpertrator is allowed to carry on with a supposed, non confirmed slap on the wrist for these actions.
My question is this:
With the Community Standards policy clearly stating that these actions are not allowed, why is it that a person is allowed to do these types of actions and there is nothing done?
The second Linden that came out to the scene today actually stated to me "I must see it happen, bottom line" For some reason, this does not seem right. This is the same thinking as if a rape victim tells a court, even with evidence (ie. chat log, screen shot) that unless the police actually witness it, there is nothing that will be done.
Second question:
If this is in fact the view of Linden labs, then why do we have clear, concise TOS and Community Standards rules even posted?
I have spent my entire time here in Second Life, obeying all the rules that i know of here, yet it seems to me, that others may be allowed to ignore such rules and there are no consequences. please answer my two questions in a general sense as that they may be useful for all residents. I do not expect specifics on my case as I know that is not what this forum is for. I have followed the letter of your rules in this posting as well, so please do not turn around and lock it trying to avoid the pertinent information which I believe we should be informed of. thank you for your time and fast responce.
