Whenever I log in, I always have to download things. I asked my friends if they have to do this, and they don't. Why do I have to constantly download everytime I want to play SL? What did I break? lol

Well, Nata, it sounds like you didn't break anything! What you describe sounds more like, you're being asked to download the latest version of Second Life, also available here:
A message automatically will come up letting you know this. You should only have to download once per update. If the message keeps coming up, fully uninstall and reinstall SL again. If this doesn't work, please contact our goodly support Lindens for help.  _____________________
