Responding to this for clarification:
"the use of CopyBot or any other external application to make unauthorized duplicates within Second Life will be treated as a violation of Section 4.2 of the Second Life Terms of Service and may result in your account(s) being banned from Second Life."
A few weeks ago I read about someone in game who used a third party tool (not CopyBot) to get a texture of their skin so they could add a tatoo to their skin texture for their own use. There was a lot of conversation about whether this was ethical or not because the skin was a commercial product. The person who copied the skin to add a tatoo had paid for the skin and only used the copy for their own use, never giving it to anyone else.
This case seems like a good example of "fair use", but considering that severity of the penalty for violating this policy, would this now be considered a banning offense?
Thanks for clarification on your policy.
