Ageplay and abuse reports.

Sexual ageplay is a huge debate, and I do not wish to start it in this forum for the time being. I am concerned however with people who file an abuse report against ageplayers. It happened to me twice.

These people muttered curse words and expressed shock. Fair enough, I understand, ageplay is something extreme and is not for everybody.. so it's fine with me, they are entitled to their opinion.. I just wish they'd think I'm entitled to mine: after they were done cursing they filled up an abuse report, simply because I was playing (and in the other case I just offered) a kid avatar.

First time around, I was yelled at into a PRIVATE residence I was having fun with a partner. The partner was offended and left. May I also mentioned that the person, who was hovering outside the window, peeping into whatever we were doing, was offending my partner's real person, to the point that he told me he was so upset he has to log off and relax. He filled an abuse report about US. of course, I filled an abuse report myself.

The other time, after asking me, the woman I was with expressed shocked, pulled out her guns and shot me all the way to a different zone. Turns out she was abused as a child in real life. I felt huge regret (not that it mattered as she was blasting my avatar to third life...), and through IM's I told her I'm sorry. Needless to say, she filled an abuse report and was ready to use her "influence" (she owns an island) to put pressure on Linden Labs.

I want to emphasize again that I did NOTHING to these people. I did not force (how can you in SL anyway) anything on them, and did not call them names or anything. I understood they were upset, but that doesn't mean they can just file a claim against me as if I was a criminal. As long as I am an adult in real life, I don't see a problem. After all, I don't follow them around into their houses when they are deeply into their own shemale fetish or whatever and file a report then.

I am concerned that Linden Labs will one day fall under the pressure and responsible adults like me, who pay and enjoy SL, will be prosecuted. This is after all a mere subject of freedom of expression of a simple fantasy.

Hi Joker, while well meaning, this really isn't the right place for abuse [email]explanations--abuse@secondlife.com[/email] is the right address. As I wasn't there nor have I heard of this, I can't really say much. Especially with a controversial topic that will be stretched like bad taffy in so many ways, speculation is unwise. I will say however, that unjustified abuse reports without any evidence are dismissed.
