Privacy vs. Agent camera views

I'm wondering about privacy in SL. I'm able to use the camera controls to enter buildings and "No Entry" parcels (although once I was blocked).

Is this a bug? How do I keep someone's eyes out of a given space in secondlife?

Hey Tinker! I don't ever recall being blocked from camscamming into parcels--if you remember a specific release and are able to confirm it with other Resis who also remember the same, please don't hesitate to let me know.

About privacy, this gets asked on a fairly frequent basis. Recently at a Community Roundtable meeting, we discussed privacy for showing an avatar's online status, which is related and similar. It's also known that blocking walls is important for certain game experiences, and several other reasons.

Andrew Linden wrote some more about "blocking walls" in a post awhile ago. And this post too.

There isn't currently a 100% effective way to block someone out. I've seen all sorts of tricks used, but if one is determined enough, they can pry through. However, this prolly also says something about their character too, and if they are intent on harassing someone on their land, an abuse report should be sent from the HELP menu and a Liaison called from HELP ---> LIVE HELP if they don't go away.
